Sliding Doors....

This is a love story, one that actually happened.

Monica & Fergus.

Monica & Fergus.

Monica had just been home to Ireland. She badly needed to get home to the comfort of her parent’s home in Donegal after a painful experience. Her parents are warm and loving, the kind of people who wrap you in their arms and tell you it’ll be ok.

Her flight back to Australia was delayed, so she ended up getting one on the 10th October. She was tired and not really herself. She sat in the middle seat on the plane and opened a bag of sweets. Because she is lovely she offered them to the passengers either side, but noticed a man in the row behind looking at her (like a puppy apparently). So she offered him a sweet too. (Thank God)

Fergus was meant to fly back to Australia in early October, but ended up missing his flight because he was in hospital. He also managed to re-book his flight, for the 10th October. Fergus likes sweets. He also likes beautiful brunettes, luckily enough for this story.

On a stopover in Abu Dhabi, Ferg decided he was going to hang out with Monica and used the excuse of not knowing where he was going to do so. Monica didn’t know where she was going either and got them both lost. The spark had been ignited by now, an undeniable chemistry between them that would lead us to where they are today.

Ferg kept asking Monica out when they got back to Australia where they both live. Monica kept making excuses not to, because she was healing her heart for a while. So Ferg decided to pull out the big guns and told her he had a spare Ed Sheeran ticket and she said she would go.

Christmas was approaching and Monica was happily planning to spend it with her friends, but Ferg didn’t have any friends (JOKE FERG LOL) and the care package from back home didn’t arrive in time, so he was going to be pretty miserable. Obviously Monica invited him to spend Christmas with her, and I‘m glad to say he did. (Isn’t she the best though??)

Beautiful Monica.

Fast forward a couple of years and imagine you’re in a hot air balloon. He asked, she said yes (thank God again!)

Fast forward another couple of years, to Saturday 14th December 2019, they got married in Twin Towns.

As soon as I walked into the Grooms house (Dergfield B&B - very nice house actually) and met Ferg’s family, I knew the day was going to be amazing. Everyone was laughing and so relaxed. Ferg wasn’t stressed at all (neither was Monica when I got there later) and even though his dad lost his suit, it was found and the laughter continued.

Side note: I realised neither of them was nervous because their hearts knew this was the right thing to do. They followed their hearts, as we all should.

When I went to Monica’s home place, it snowed, then there was a rainbow. The house is so warm and friendly, so much love in the air that I found myself coming up with plans to try get myself adopted by them (didn’t work).

There was no drama, just a family who really care about each other and throw their arms open to all who come into their lives.

The ceremony was sweet, the chapel was pretty and everyone was happy that these two got married. I mean everyone, because in spite of various difficulties and hardships, things we think have gone wrong and are the end of the world, can be fixed by love. Not one person on the planet can deny that Monica and Fergus are not only made for each other, but were very definitely destined to be on that plane together. They have not just made each other happy, but they have spread that love to the hearts of anyone that meets them.

And they all lived happily ever after………..

So if you are getting married and you’re as in love as these two, please get in touch. I do love a bit of love :D
